Casper Poiesz is a boatbuilder trained at the International Yacht Restoration School — one of the most respected wooden boat programmes in the world. His speciality is the classic vessels of Stephens Brothers, and his work has been recognised with Best in Show at the Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival.

Woody Ghost operates in Newport Beach, Orange County and Long Beach — serving owners who understand that a classic wooden boat deserves more than a service plan. It deserves someone who cares.

A 65-foot classic wooden yawl designed by Olin Stephens and built in 1953. Former picture boat for Hollywood productions, she now rides as one of the finest classic sailing yachts on the Southern California coast.

Brightwork & Varnish

The soul of a classic wooden boat lives in its brightwork. We apply traditional varnish with the patience and skill it demands — multiple coats, hand-sanded between each one, until the result is the mirror finish your boat deserves.

Boat Management

Full management of your classic wooden boat on your behalf. Regular inspections, coordinated maintenance, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing someone who genuinely loves your vessel is watching over it.

Mechanical & Detailing

Engine maintenance and service — including Detroit Diesel — alongside cleaning, polishing and comprehensive detailing. Delivered with the same care we bring to every other aspect of wooden boat stewardship.
